What is BIAB?

BIAB stands for Builder In A Bottle. It is a rubber-based builder gel applied directly onto your natural nail as a strengthening overlay. Think of it as a protective armor for your nails. It is thicker and more structured than regular gel polish, but flexible enough to move naturally with your nail so it does not crack or lift.
Unlike extensions, BIAB adds no artificial length. It works with whatever nails you have, short, bitten, thin, or damaged, and builds strength from within so your natural nail can finally grow.
Why You'll Love BIAB
Your Natural Nails, Only Stronger
BIAB bonds directly to your natural nail plate, creating a protective layer that shields against everyday breaks, chips, and peeling. No tips, no extensions, just your own nails reinforced and ready to grow.
Grow Nails You Never Could Before
One of the most loved benefits of BIAB is its ability to help even the most stubborn nail growers. Whether you bite your nails, have thin or brittle nails, or your nails simply snap before they get anywhere, BIAB gives them the structure they need to finally grow.
Lasts Up to 4 Weeks
BIAB has exceptional staying power. With proper care you can expect chip-free, lift-free wear for three to four weeks between infills.
Looks Polished and Natural
BIAB gives a smooth, glossy finish straight out of the salon. Wear it in a sheer nude for the clean, barely-there look, over your favorite gel color, or as the perfect base for nail art.
Gentle and Soak-Off Safe
No harsh drilling, no aggressive filing on your natural nail. BIAB is soaked off with acetone, just like gel polish. Your nails stay healthy appointment after appointment.
BIAB vs. Regular Gel Polish. What Is the Difference?
A lot of clients ask this. Both are cured under UV light and both soak off with acetone. The difference is in the structure.
Regular gel polish is thin and flexible. It looks great but offers little to no structural support for the nail underneath. If your natural nail is weak, regular gel polish will not stop it from breaking.
BIAB is significantly thicker and forms a structural layer over your natural nail. It builds what is called an apex, the slightly raised arch at the center of the nail that distributes pressure andprevents snapping. This is why BIAB clients often describe it as the first time their nails actually stayed on.
If you have strong, healthy nails and just want color and shine, regular gel polish works perfectly. If your nails break, peel, or never seem to grow, BIAB is the upgrade your nails need.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Your BIAB appointment at Kalos & Muse is a calm, personalized experience. Here is what happens during your visit:
1. Nail Prep. We start by cleansing and shaping your nails and tidying the cuticles. No harsh filing or drilling on the natural nail.
2. Base Application. A thin base coat is applied to ensure maximum adhesion and protect your nail plate.
3. BIAB Application and Sculpting. We apply your BIAB in layers, building the apex for structure and strength, then cure each layer under UV light.
4. Shape and Refine. We refine the shape and smooth the surface for a clean, salon-perfect finish.
5. Color or Top Coat. Choose a gel color, nail art, or a high-gloss clear finish. A final cure locks everything in
Most BIAB appointments take 60 to 75 minutes. Infill appointments, where we fill in the natural growth without full removal, are shorter and typically take 45 to 60 minutes.
